Dijon is a perfect starting point for a trip around the Burgundy region to enjoy its famous wines, and that's before you even mention the world famous mustard.
It has one of the best preserved town centres in France with a rich architectural heritage stretching back to the Dukes of Burgundy who made Dijon their home from the 11th Century to the 1400s.

Gothic churches stand next to medieval half-timbered houses and Renaissance style buildings with the former palace of the Dukes of Burgundy the heart of the ducal capital. It houses the Fine Arts Museum (Musee des Beaux Arts), one of the greatest museums in Europe.
